What's Been Going On

We went with Tim's family to the Museum of Natural Curiosity at Thanksgiving Point. The kids had a lot of fun!

Sophia enjoyed her dance classes. More to come on her amazing recital!

And lots of baby pictures. :)

Obviously these photos are a bit out of date. Someday I'll get back into a routine and I'll get photos posted sooner. Elliott is growing so fast! He smiles all the time! I'm not getting much sleep yet, but he's been a good baby.

Our Little Elliott!

I'll start with the birth story, for those who are interested. If you're just here for pictures, feel free to skip all this. :)
So, at 8:30 pm on March 14, contractions started. We left our house around 10:30 pm and went to the hospital. We got all checked in, and my contractions were less than three minutes apart. They got my epidural in and the contractions calmed down a little. My doctor was out of town, and the on-call doctor wanted to wait and see if my water would break on it's own. At three am, it did. The doctor came in, I pushed a few times, and Elliott was born at 3:16 am! He was six pounds and twelve-point-nine ounces. (Tim won't let us round up to thirteen.) :) He was 19.5 inches long. We named him Elliott Engstrom. Engstrom is a family name on Tim's side. His great grandfather changed his last name from Engstrom to Brandt, and we decided to bring it back. :)

Elliott has been such a sweet baby! Everyone loves him. He started smiling before he was even six weeks old. (Though only at his Daddy.) He loves to coo, and he has the same huge blue eyes as his Dad and siblings. Mama doesn't get a lot of sleep yet, but it's been a relatively easy transition. I am so thankful that Heavenly Father sent us such a sweet, mostly calm baby! And for those wondering - he doesn't have the same reflux issues that Samuel had, so I haven't had to restrict my diet as much. I'm only avoiding milk, ice cream, and chocolate. And spicy foods.

First bath at home!

The kids have been super excited about their baby brother, and they ask to hold him a lot. We're working on the concept of being gentle - they both really want Elliott to be big enough to play with.

There will definitely be a lot more pictures in the future. :)
