Homemade Baby Wipes

This is so easy, you're going to love it!  You need:

  • A roll of paper towels (not cheap, flimsy ones; we use Bounty)
  • Baby shampoo
  • Baby oil
  • 2 cups of warm water
  • An empty 5 quart ice cream bucket
  • A sharp knife (NOT serrated!)

Step One: Cut the roll of paper towels in half

Step Two: Remove the cardboard roll from the center of the paper towels

Step Three: Put two tablespoons of baby shampoo into the warm water

Step Four: Put two tablespoons of baby oil into the warm water mixture

Step Five: Stir the water mixture until it turns all glittery on top :)

Step Six: Place one half of the paper towel roll into the ice cream bucket

Step Seven: Pour the water mixture over the paper towels, making sure to get it in the middle and on the edges.  Pop the lid on and let it soak down through before using.

And VOILA!  You have easy, inexpensive baby wipes!  Just pull them out from the center and tear off whatever you need.  Make sure you keep the lid on between uses to keep the wipes wet.  We have two ice cream buckets, so we can do both halves of the paper towels at the same time.  And if you want some for on-the-go, just pull some out and keep them in a Ziploc storage bag.

Honestly, it took me longer to write this post than it did to make two batches of baby wipes.  :)

This is Our Wonderful Life

We've been busy with life lately!  The theater room is nearly finished, and when it is, I'll post all about it.  Tim was just called as our new Elder's Quorom President!  We're excited for this new adventure, and I'll admit to being a little excited that he won't be leaving me for Scout camps every month now.  He will actually be released from all four-or-so of his other callings, so he can focus on his new one.

We've all been dealing with a bit of illness this past week.  Tim caught a bad cold, then I caught the flu, now Sophia has a nasty cold.  She was up every 15 minutes to 45 minutes most of the night.  Poor girl!  But before she got sick, she was super happy, and I have several adorable smiley pictures of her.  She's doing well at standing on her own for short periods of time, but still has no interest in walking on her own. She can kind of say "kangaroo," she can tell you what an elephant says, and she loves to play "Pat-a-cake" and "Here is the church..."  I have an adorable video of her doing all these things, but I can't get it to load right now, so you'll just have to wait.  :)

I just got my hair cut today, but you'll have to wait on pictures of that too, 'cuz I don't have any yet.  :)  I guess you'll just have to be satisfied with a few cute pictures of our little girl, and I'll try to have a less lame post next time.  :)

This is my favorite of her smiles, all scrunched up and adorable!

This is her bouncing.

Tim taught her to say "Ahh..." after she takes a drink.

Standing on her own and so happy!
